It’s a card. And it’s actually Green.

It really is green, hence the name ‘Green Card’ I suppose.

And I got one! Hoot. Holler and carry on I tell ya’!

Can I just tell you that I so enjoy listening to all of the quilting podcasts and that I would really like to start up again. If only there weren’t so many hurdles in the way! I wish they were a ‘push this button and poof you are self hosted and all your old stuff is all there and can upload your shows directly to your own site’ instead of going through middle men that are hit and miss at best.

And while I may be ‘all that and a piece of cake’ social media maven for C&T Publishing (tongue deep in cheek – I pinch myself everyday that they haven’t caught on to me yet…) I did not have to do anything ‘techy’ to get it set up, I just roll with it – you know?

So here is a proposition of sorts… Does anyone want to be that button? I pay handsomely in praise, goodwill, and I have quite a lovely stash of fabrics, notions, and books that I would barter for the button in a heartbeat….

I have so much to tell you guys!! And let’s face it, I never was much of a ‘blogger for withinaqaurterinch’ (don’t tell my boss! ha!) I was a podcaster, and I want to be one again.

Oh and here is something that has me quite intrigued…

citysampler by Tula Pink Quilt Along

A quilt along hosted by Sara from SewSweetnessΒ  for Tula Pink’s book, 100 Modern Quilt BlocksI just ordered it from Amazon. As Sara says in her post, I missed the whole Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along and this one seems a lot more attainable in any case. (oh and – this is not a C&T book, so no affliliation!)

  1. Green card! Where are you originally from? Are you on vacation this week? πŸ™‚

  2. congrats – I have had mine for 18 months now….it is liberating :-). I also just got the book in the mail I am hoping to join the quilt along as well πŸ™‚

  3. Congratulations! I know it is a huge relief to have that behind you.

Stop tempting me with that quilt-a-long!!!

Good to see you back in this space. Miss you!

  4. I SO want you to resume podcasting-you were one of my favorites!,

  5. I am from Montreal! My husband and I moved to the States 10 years ago, using work Visa’s this whole time. The permanent resident status was a long time coming:)

I am off this week, but staying home because my mom is coming to town. My dad is off with his buddies in Europe (my mother usually goes with – the annual trip) but decided to come here instead. Now that we know we won’t be deported anytime soon, it’s time to start decorating and she is awesome at it. We bought our house and it looks half college dorm half grown up. Trying for all growed up.

Read: she is buying us furniture.

I am looking forward to some time off from work also, love my job, but everyone needs a break now and then:)

I ordered Tula’s book! And even though I have 14 billion projects and 6 year-old twins and that job etc. I am so in like Flynn! Thank you so much for hosting it! I wish stash could add prizes but since it is a competing publishing house, likely not, ya know?

  6. I feel like the world (well, the States anyway!) is my Oyster! SO liberating!!! See you at the quilt along – nudge nudge….

  7. Come on – you know you wanna do it!

  8. You’re sweet to say so – I want to start again also – I figure it I put the call out there, maybe something good can happen. You don’t know if you don’t ask, right?

  9. πŸ™‚ I have never done a quilt along….I asked on the page – do you know if you have to use the fabric or can you use anything?

  10. You can use anything you like! Make it much more interesting to see whatever does. Join the flickr group and be sure to add photos of your progress so people can see the choices YOU make. Tula’s book actually emphasizes making your own choices so this is a great ‘along’ for you to start with!

  11. Thank you πŸ™‚

  12. It’s so good to see another post from you. I hope someone takes you up on your offer and sets up the ‘button’ for you. You were always my favorite so I hope you’ll return to the airways. Can’t believe the twins are 6 – we need some updates on them.

BTW, congrats on the green card and the decorating/furniture gift.

  13. YAY Allison, love your podcast, listen from I tunes, don’t quilt but love your spirit and your humor. I sew and am trying to rise above my 12 an d13 yo girls every frickin day of my life. LOL

  14. Miss you Allison. Really wish you would start up your podcast again. I listen to all of the quilting podcasts and miss yours (and Byre Lynn’s too). But I know how life can get in the way, so if you can’t podcast be sure to post a little something in your blog once in a while πŸ™‚

  15. I hope you do start podcasting again. You were my favorite too. Loved the funny stories, and the bad influence you were as far as buying quilting goodies.

  16. I hope you find that button. Missed you.

  17. Hey – did anyone ever get with on you the whole “push a button to be self hosted” thing? ;D

  18. Please please please podcast again! I miss your shows so much!

  19. Yay, congrats! I miss podcasting too, but it’s been ages, and ages for me. I miss yours! I used to product my own podcast so know the work that goes into it. I wish I were able to be the push a button person for you! And yay, awesome job at C&T though it’s been ages now. πŸ™‚

  20. Err… I could probably figure that podcasting thing out for you. It’s kind of what I do πŸ˜‰ Call me.

  21. […] I mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to participate in Sara’s (from Sew Sweetness) City Sampler Quilt Along […]

  22. I miss your podcast so I hope someone has taken you up on your offer.
