Perfect timing Allison…I’m heading to a quilt show tomorrow morning that’s about an hour away & I get to listen to your podcast on the way there. Woohoo. Thanks!
Freezer paper and Waved Paper are VERY Different from each other. And now that you mention it; I don’t recall seeing at home either.. hhmmm. Online shopping to the rescue??
Allison,
So sorry you and your family had to go thru the college student break in. I know it happens but there really is no excuse for that happening.
i always love your podcasts and I usually listen while I am going for a walk and almost run home so I can get quilting!!

What a scare for your family. I hope your husband is recovering well and the twins were able to catch up on their interupted sleep. I’ll have to check with my daughter to see if that type of situation happens at where she goes to college.
I like your plan for the been there and done that, the interview and the podcast.
Tracy, grocery stores in some areas of Canada don’t carry freezer paper – and often the quilt shops in those areas will carry it and sell it by the metre. I did find it at http://www.canadianquiltshop.com/, but they sell it in letter sized sheets, and it is quite expensive compared to the roll. I live in Calgary, and Safeway carries it here.
Hi, I’m also in Calgary – well Chestermere and yes it is available in Safeway here…I use it all of the time for templates, needle turn applique and all sorts of stuff.

My first quilt teacher in New Jersey in 1987 taught us to use freezer paper for applique. It’s available here in SoCal in grocery stores. Last year my son-in-law in Texas pulled it out to wrap deer meat and I had to laugh…he says that was its original purpose. Who knew? When I told him what I use it for, he was laughing at me. I love your podcast. Take care. Diane
I love my freezer paper but have only finished one large roll in my whole quilting career. 20 years. I am half way through the next roll but have started to applique more and should buy more. My local Walmart did not have it after the dreded remodel so I have to look at the grocery store.

Is freezer paper waxed paper? I have never seen freezer paper in Quebec!

I love freezer paper and had a bit of a scare. Three grocery stores later before I could find some.
